Blogging it up!

Well here I go... my first blog post! I guess I will start off by telling you a little about myself. I am a mom of four kiddos. They're growing up too fast! We have two boys ages 17 and 15, and then our two ladybugs ages 13 and 11.

We have always homeschooled them and every year I say, let's just make it through THIS year and see what happens. The boys did go to a private school this last year and they really enjoyed it. The school is still very much like being home schooled, each class meets once a week for about an hour and then they are assigned work for the week. So it was mainly the girls and I this year, which was kind of nice to be able to focus more on two instead of all four!

We live in the beautiful state of Montana! It is cold about 9 months out of the year, so if you here anything different, it's a lie ;) I'm ready to move to a warmer climate for sure! Montana truly is beautiful and some days when I take time to look around and breathe it all in, there just aren't words to describe the beauty!

I love being a stay at home mom, I have worked part time off and on the past few years and we decided it's just too much. So now that we are headed into summer, I thought, what a great time to try this blogging, Etsy, Instagram, thing out!

I have always loved photography and preserving memories, so of course I love scrapbooking! I have been scrapbooking since I was 16, really all there was at that time was Creative Memories. So the art has come a looooong way! I'm not super fond of looking at some of my first albums (was I really COLORING in stamps ON the actual page?!) and unfortunately one of the first albums was our wedding album. But I have yet to go back and fix it. Maybe once the kids move out...

I love crafting in general, I just painted two globes for the first time, which took waaaaay longer than I thought it would. I like to try random projects like that. I enjoy refinishing furniture with chalk paint and wax, although I have set that aside to do other things right now. You'll see that I kind of jump around from one project to the next.

My largest project that I have recently taken on is organizing my scrapbook/craft room. Again, it started with wanted a new desk/workspace. Which turned into about a month long project. My 15 year old son asked me yesterday if this is what I'm going to do all summer. :) So a month has seemed like a long time to him too!

One of my favorite quotes I have recently seen on Instagram is, "By doing what you LOVE, you inspire and awaken the hearts of others. I don't know who's quote it is, it just really spoke to me as I am beginning a new journey. I love being inspired and I hope that this blog will give encouragement as a person, mom, wife, someone who love God and is always growing and inspiration to each other as fellow crafters! Welcome to our crazy life! :)
